LIVE Cable Interview w/ Author - John A. Andrews. Part II
About The AUTHOR:
John A. Andrews was born in the beautiful Islands of St. Vincent and the Grenadines. He grew up in a home of five sisters and three brothers. His parents were all about values: work hard, love God and never give up on dreams. His dad Conrad, was a carpenter, and mom Elaine, operated the family owned factory, did church and served as the village’s Mother Teresa.
As a self educated student, John developed an interest for music, by compiling his favorite songs from the neighbor’s musical collection, and listened to them on his eldest brother’s cassette player. He recalls “those were fun days as the girls in his neighborhood competed to braid my hair; my huge Afro had to be kept in shape.” He idolizes the legendary BERRY GORDY; revering him for his role in unleashing the careers of numerous talented artists, which helped to make Motown a national success.
John’s acting career began in New York in 1994. Moving to Los Angeles 12 years ago, not only put several national TV commercials under his belt but helped him to find his niche; today he spends most of his time writing, and currently producing among others, one of his original screenplays “RUDE BUAY” with his best friend of ten years, MARK BURG; a loyal friend who has helped him to believe strongly in his potential.
John’s passion for writing started in 2002 when he was denied the rights to a 1970s classic film, which he so badly wanted to remake. Along with his very busy schedule he’s finding time to ink his fourth and fifth book. Also producing a docu-drama based on his second book “Spread Some Love (Relationships 101). He’s the father of 3 sons, Jonathan 13, Jefferri 11 and Jamison 9. Jonathan and Jefferri are currently writing their first screenplay as a collaborative effort.
John A. Andrews read his first positive thinking book “The Magic of Thinking Big” 24 years ago and consequently developed an insatiable appetite for inspirational material.
John states: “Some people create, while others compete. Creating is where the rubber meets the road. A dream worth having is one worth fighting for because freedom is not free; it carries a massive price tag.”
